Stepping into the Beam Distributing office leads you, quite literally, into the middle
Stepping into the Beam Distributing office leads you, quite literally, into the middle of everything. The front door opens into the middle of our physical office space where our order processing team is hard at work in the middle of the flow of our operations. The common Beam customer may not even stop to consider who was responsible for processing the details of their order, staying on top of product availability, or managing timelines on big projects. But at Beam we are very grateful for the hard work that comes from this team!
It’s no surprise that being in the middle of everything highlights the greatest benefit of working at Beam for all the members of the order processing team. It is “the fun and laid back atmosphere” that makes Beam such an enjoyable place to work for Alex Harbison, order entry specialist and Beam chef. Our resident wise guy Stephen Lehman, order entry specialist, says it is “the wacky folks I work with” that make Beam a great place to work. It’s not all fun and games of course, and Stephen acknowledged that “it's nice to see the folks at the top and to be able to communicate with them directly.” Operations manager Cody Clarke agrees, saying that “seeing the impact of decisions company wide” makes working for a small business like Beam rewarding.
The order processing team may not continue to be in the middle of things in quite the same way once Beam moves into its new building. But the order processing team is still looking forward to it! For project manager Jennifer Skeel the move means “a new, clean environment and working close to home.” Meanwhile, Alex is understandably excited about one particular room in the new building: “the kitchen.”
